PAUL Tisdale is not going to jump into a judgement of Swindon’s sudden decline in League One.

The Exeter City manager, who will bring his team to the County Ground tomorrow to defend a four-match unbeaten streak, still believes the Robins have the capacity to rediscover the form that brought broad smiles to the Town faithful in 2009/10.

And Tisdale expects a fluent, passing game of football when the two sides meet this afternoon.

“Swindon are a very good football team,” he said.

“They haven’t yet achieved what they did last year, although there are signs they could start to do that soon.

“They have a good pitch so it’s an opportunity to play passing football and I can’t recall too many visiting teams winning there.

“It will be a difficult game.

“They had a fantastic second half to last year. They suddenly built a team and their performance.

“There’s no reason why they can’t do that again this year so I would be hesitant to make a black-and-white statement that they are not as good as last year.”

Tisdale struggled to put his finger on exactly why the Robins are finding life in League One so difficult this time around.

But Town’s footballing intentions appeal to the Grecians’ chief, who said he will always be wary of a side managed by Danny Wilson.

“The manager’s still the same, a large part of the squad is still there,” he said.

“I think they will find their true form soon but I hope it’s not on Saturday.

“They certainly play their football in the right way - I think Wilson was my selection for manager of the year last year because of the manner in which they played and how efficient they were as a team.

“I very much respect their philosophy and they will be a match for anyone.”
