SWINDON Town could bring Celtic centre-back Milan Misun to the County Ground today to bolster their defensive options, the Swindon Advertiser understands.

Misun, who has not featured for the Scottish Premier League leaders this season, is expected in Wiltshire for a medical which may lead to a permanent move south of the border.

Town manager Danny Wilson yesterday confirmed the club were close to recruiting a new defender and told the Advertiser an unnamed player would be attending an assessment today.

The Robins boss would not comment on the identity of the target, but the Adver believes it is the 20-year-old Czech.

When questioned on whether Swindon were looking to reinforce their ranks with a defender before Saturday’s League One clash with Exeter City, Wilson said: “Yes we are. It could be done before the weekend.

“If all things turn out then we will do something some stage tomorrow and before Saturday.

“It is because this particular area that we want to bring in anyway, and requires a permanent deal not just a loan so taking that into account it must be done before the weekend.”
