SWINDON have been boosted by the news that they will not be without Paul Caddis for a lengthy period of time after scans yesterday revealed his ankle injury was not serious.

The Town skipper had to come off just 15 minutes into Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, sparking fears he could be out of action for some time at such a crucial stage of the season.

Caddis has been an ever present for Town this season, playing 45 games in all competitions at right back.

He will miss tomorrow’s game against second-place Cheltenham, however, meaning Alan McCormack is likely to step in once again.

But after hearing the results of yesterday’s scan, Town boss Paolo Di Canio is happy that Caddis will be available for selection again soon.

“We are very happy,” he said.

“There is no big damage. He is not okay for Saturday though.

“We don’t want to say when we think he will be back but we are happy.

“It is good for us because he can be available soon.”

Aside from Caddis, Town have no new injury concerns to report.

Aden Flint is still sidelined with a groin injury, but otherwise Di Canio has the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from.

2012 Win A Pro Contract winner Chris Smith, who is a right back, could be included in the squad for tomorrow’s game.

New signing Jonathan Tehoue will also be hoping to be involved after joining on loan from League One side Leyton Orient.

Cheltenham, meanwhile, have been boosted by the return of defender Steve Elliott.
