TEENAGER Josh Morse is used to posting the Adver to its Swindon readership but today we can reveal where the delivery boy’s skills really lie.

The18-year-old has been called up for national service and will represent the England Colleges football team at an international tournament in Italy next week.

That is because he is a highly-skilled left-winger and impressed national boss Simon East so much that he could not turn down the chance to include him in the squad for the event.

Morse is due to fly to Rome tomorrow, where he and England will compete against a hotchpotch of international teams including hosts Italy, Slovenia, Romania, San Marino and the Gambia.

It will be the first international tournament that Morse has taken part in and his mum Julie said he was delighted to be given the chance.

“He was absolutely chuffed to bits,” she said. “It’s his dream really, he’s always been a very keen footballer.

“He’s still a paper boy now because it’s the only job that fits in with his football, as he plays for Wiltshire, Cirencester Development team and Cirencester Academy.”

Cirencester Academy director of coaching Steve Lowndes said: “He’s had an excellent season to be fair, he’s been outstanding in the league programme and the FA Youth Cup, so it’s fantastic for him to get this international recognition.

“He’s a nice lad, very quiet and unassuming, he loves his football and is totally dedicated, I don’t think he’s missed training in the two years he’s been at the academy.”

Morse has been delivering the Adver since he was 14.

His selection for England is another boost for Cirencester Academy, who have enjoyed considerable success of late having recently won the English Schools’ Football Association’s Under 18s Colleges Trophy.
