BRINKWORTH Cats produced the performance of the day on the opening weekend of the North Wilts Youth League, seeing off Highworth Town Juniors H 17-1 in Under 15 Division 1.

Brinkworth were boosted by six goals from Hugo Vivash, while Jake Covey netted a hat-trick of his own as the Cats shot out of the traps at the start of the new campaign.

Levi Kuenen and Aidan Thompson both managed braces for the home team, who also had Jack Skryme, George Fry and Ben Gerrish on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere in the division, Croft Juniors won 9-5 at Brinkworth Cats R, Purton beat Highworth Town Juniors T 6-1 away from home, Shrivenham & Watchfield slipped to a 4-1 loss at Shaw and Fairford Town Youth overcame Swindon Supermarine 5-1.

UNDER 9 DIVISION 2

Hungerford Town and Ferndale fought out a competitive goalless draw, with both keepers performing well on the day.

UNDER 10 DIVISION 1

Greenmeadow enjoyed a 4-1 victory on the road at Robins in their first game of the season.

Greenmeadow scored their first goal after just 10 seconds through Max Whitfield, who grabbed his second minutes later.

Josh Sawford fired in the visitors’ third before Whitfield completed his hat-trick.

Liden Community edged out Highworth Town Juniors H 2-1. Liden took the lead courtesy of Tobias Lango and extended it thanks to Tom Ponting. Daniel Warre pulled one back for the home side.

UNDER 10 DIVISION 2

Jake Hammond notched a hat-trick in Wanborough ’s 7-3 victory over Lydiard.

Tom Moore registered twice, while Will Sumner and Jacob Chilcott bagged a goal apiece for Wanborough.

UNDER 10 DIVISION 3

Goals from Joshua Pai, Mitchell Dunn and Riccardo Rossi were not enough to earn FC Abbey Meads Colts a share of the spoils against Cricklade Youth, as they lost 4-3.

Stratton Juniors Orange had Lewis Aitken to thank as his two goals proved crucial in their 3-2 win over Wootton Bassett Town Yellow. Ewan Burrows also found the net for Stratton.

Jordan Heaton scored on his debut as Stratton Juniors Black nudged past Pewsey Vale 3-2. Jamie McConnell and George Herbert put Stratton 3-0 up before Pewsey fought back, but the hosts still claimed all the points.

UNDER 10 DIVISION 4

FC Abbey Meads Youth beat Wroughton Youth White 3-1 with goals coming from Alex Isaacs, Harvey Richards and Joshua Townsend.

UNDER 11 DIVISION 1

Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas and Shaw played out a 4-4 draw. On the scoresheet for the Pumas were Ben Dodd, Brandon Lewis and Corey Adams (2).

UNDER 11 DIVISION 2

Ferndale Rodbourne Rovers put in a brave performance against Swindon Youth before going down 4-0.

There were good performances from new girls Chanice Gibbs and Hannah Peachey for Rovers

UNDER 11 DIVISION 4

Northern Lights started brightly with two early goals, from Connor Robb and Tommy Cole, in their 6-1 victory against Stratton Juniors.

Two Stratton own goals and one from Marley Richards made the half-time score 5-0 to the Lights. Imran Hanif completed the scoring shortly after the break.

Castle Combe Colts Black produced an emphatic start to the new camapign as they saw off Blunsdon Colts 11-0.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 1

Ferndale YCFC had a difficult afternoon on the first day of the season, losing 5-1 to a well organised Wootton Bassett Blue team.

Ferndale's solitary goal came from a Bailey Gallagher free-kick.

Eight-man Swindon Supermarine shrugged off their player deficit to draw 2-2 with FC Abbey Meads.

Ryan Harris scored both of Supermarine’s goals.

Croft Juniors Red beat Liden Community 6-0, despite the Liden goalkeeper saving an early Croft penalty.

Croft found the net through Daniel Skinner’s hat-trick and singles from Harry Timbrell, Jack Leach and Hamsa Amaan.

The two Swindon Rangers teams fought out a 1-1 draw.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 2

The lively Matt Conner got both Ferndale Rodbourne Youth's goals in their 3-2 defeat to Ramsbury Juniors.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 3

Highworth Town Juniors lost 2-1 to Ferndale Rodbourne Colts but will take heart from superb debut performances by Ethan Hughes, Jack Mason and Barnaby Bushnell.

UNDER 13 DIVISION 2

Pewsey Vale went in front against Greenmeadow before the visitors retaliated through Jack Trott, Charlie Britten and Oliver Mathews to enforce a half-time lead.

In second period, Trott got his second and Lee Murphy completed the scoring for Greenmeadow to put the gloss on a 5-1 win.

UNDER 14 DIVISION 1

Brinkworth Cats Black and Wroughton Youth had to be happy with a point each after a 1-1 draw.

Brinkworth took a deserved lead into the break courtesy of a Martin Sinclair goal, set up by Asheley Phillips.

However, after the interval Jordan Lea equalised for Wroughton to secure the visitors a share of the spoils.

UNDER 14 DIVISION 3

Sevenfields United began their season with a 3-3 draw at home to South Cerney.

Cerney flew into a 3-0 half-time lead but Sevenfields remained resolute and hit back with three goals from captain and man of the match Keelan Boyce.

UNDER 15 DIVISION 2

Sam Davies headed two goals straight from corners as Blunsdon Colts beat Brinkworth Cats B 3-1. Mahbub Rahman bagged the Colts’ third.

Eldene Rangers started the season well with a 4-0 win over Greenmeadow.

Eldene took the lead through Shaun Jones scoring direct from a corner. Further goals from Tyler Cobb and Taylor Smague made it 3-0 at half-time.

Greenmeadow battled valiantly in the second half but Alfie Stone completed the scoring for Eldene.
