GARVEY Kelly says that he is excited that he could have the chance to fight in Swindon again before Christmas.

KM Promotions and Paddy Fitzpatrick will be staging their latest show together on Sunday, December 20 at the Grange Drive Leisure Centre.

And the 27-year-old welterweight, who claimed a shut-out points success over Danny Donchev in his last outing at the Oasis Leisure Centre in October, is already back in training.

“Paddy told me that I’ll be fighting again just before Christmas and I’m buzzing that it will be in Swindon again,” Kelly said. “I’ll will have had a busy first year as professional and I have learnt so much and I just want to continue that.”

Fitzpatrick told the Advertiser that along with Greenbridge-based Mayo, they hope to stage around six to seven boxing shows a year in the town.

The show in December will also see Fitzpatrick’s Gym’s unbeaten cruiserweight Luke Watkins topping the bill, while Mayo’s unbeaten welterweight ace Ryan Martin and female middleweight prospect Kelly Morgan will also be in action.

“Keith and I having been talking this week and we are looking staging six or seven shows a year,” Fitzpatrick said. “The last three shows have all gone down well and we want to continue that.

“In December, there will be Garvey, Duke, the main event, Ryan (Martin) and a couple of other boys as well as Sniper (Sam) Smith.

“It will be nice to keep Garvey and Ryan moving along for when they fight next year.

“For me, it makes more sense to have it when they have both had 11 or 12 fights - build up the rivalry and get people talking about it and have over 10 rounds for a title.”
