TWO Cirencester ABC juniors were in action in Camberely, Wales, last weekend.
First up was 12-year-old Lewis Varey against Jesse Keet, from Mole Valley ABC.
In the first round, there was nothing between the two. Varey upped his game in the second and third rounds, catching Keet with several shots to win on a unanimous points decision.
Next up was Johnny Varey against schoolboy champion and Polish international Eryk Ciureja, from Fenland Sparta ABC.
In another excellent schoolboy bout, Varey lost a tight decision.
ABA coach Simon Knowles said: “Lewis did very well to beat Jesse and what a bout Johnny was in. Although there was nothing in it, it was all good experience for him.’’ The club have a show on March 18 at the Bingham Hall in Cirencester and are still seeking sponsorship.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the club can contact Billy Varey on 07453 545684.
