KELLY Morgan has not had things all her way since turning her hand to professional and the build up to her latest fight is no different.

The 36-year-old was meant to take on Borislava Goranova at the Real Deal show in Bristol next Friday but saw those plans scuppered when the show was pulled on Saturday.

However, with thanks to her sponsors and after a tough 48 hours of negotiations, Morgan is still set to face the Bulgarian, who has won just 10 of her 56 bouts.

Rather than Bristol, Morgan will now be heading to Bournemouth on the same day to appear on the No Excuses undercard at the Sir David English Sports Centre.

And, with a potential meeting with WBC super-middleweight champion Nikki Adler on the horizon, not having the fight was not an option for Morgan.

“With the prospect of facing Nikki in November, which obviously it is not confirmed, we absolutely have to fight,” she said.

“I need every round of experience I possibly can because she just outweighs me in experience ten-fold over.

“I can’t go into the ring against Nikki having had six months without a competitive fight, it’s just not an option.”

While Morgan would have liked to have put her head down and concentrate on training over the weekend until the storm blew over, she and trainer Richard Farnan tackled the issue head on to re-organise the fight.

However, Morgan admits that it would not have been possible without her sponsors and the pair look unlikely to earn any money from the bout as a result.

“You really need to attack it as a team because it hits the morale of all of us,” she added.

“We have had some help from businesses and friends donating but we still need to sell tickets.

“Without the support of Excalibur and Verelogic, along with a couple of my personal friends, we wouldn’t have been able to even think about re-arranging the fight.

“If we can get about 20 tickets sold to come with us then we will have covered the cost, Rich and I won’t get paid but we won’t have to pay out any money.

“It is an emotional and financial rollercoaster really but there is only one choice, you have to dig your heels in and keep your head up and go again.”
