SIMON Knowles Jnr achieved a superb victory for Penhill Boxing Club over Downend's (Bristol) Billy Hearle.

The Swindonian came out with all guns blazing, getting the better of toe-to-toe exchanges and boxing cleverly behind a razor-sharp jab.

Knowles put together some eye-catching combinations to win the first round and it was much the same in the second as Hearle did his best to get into the fight.

Knowles sank some super body shots to the left and right ribcage which left his opponent in survival mode for the remainder of the bout.

Knowles will be in action for the second time in a week as Penhill ABC hold an open show tonight, with seven of the club's boxers in action.

Adam Goddard, one of Penhill's best prospects, will fight three two-minute rounds, while senior light-heavyweight Danny Harris is trying to win the fourth bout of his career The doors open at 7pm with £7 entry fee. All are welcome.
