Walcot boxer Patrick McDonagh will make his international debut this weekend in a Three Nations tournament in Manchester.
The 14-year-old won the Class 2 (52kgs) national schoolboy title in February and is the English number one in his category.
Patrick and number two Khaleel Majid will compete against the Welsh and Scottish champions in the semi-finals, with the two winners meeting in the final. England enter two boxers as they are the host nation.
Ahead of his international debut, McDonagh said: “I am really looking forward to boxing for England.
“It's a dream come true and I must thank all the Walcot coaches who have helped me along the way - chief coach Harry Scott, Sarah Wicks, Dave Veysey, Harold Scott (Junior), Lionel Macrea and Danny Hughes.
Harry Scott added: “We have trained Patrick since he was six or seven and we always knew he had the ability to become a major talent. Now he has begun to fulfil his potential.
“We all wish him well and hope he brings home the gold medal.”
