JOE Perkins wants to see an immediate reaction from Nationwide House as they prepare to head into battle with Winsley tomorrow.
The skipper watched his team slide to an emphatic defeat to Trowbridge on the opening day of Wiltshire Division action after only managing 114 runs in reply to the hosts’ 253.
Winsley also tasted defeat last Saturday and Perkins wants his players to show their true potential as both sides target their first victory of 2013.
“The only disappointing thing last Saturday was that we didn’t value our wickets enough to chase down a target that we are going to see most weeks this season,” said Perkins.
“We have a great chance to bounce straight back with a win against Winsley, with it being on our own track, to show how good we really can be on our day.
“With Russ Arkley away this time it enables Stuart Archer to come in and give our bowling attack even more experience.”
Elsewhere in the division, Swindon have made two changes ahead of their trip to Marshfield.
Opening batsmen Marc Williamson is away so Adam Tribbick comes in after hitting 87 for Bassett’s second string last week.
Seamer Nigel Dunstan is back from work commitments and replaces Cameron Baden in a like-for-like change.
Skipper Liam Tucker said: “We started reasonably well with a win against Marlborough and we’re looking to go into Marshfield with the same attitude.
“Hopefully that will produce the same sort of result.”
Lower down the ladder in Wiltshire League Division One, Wootton Bassett and Purton host Swindon Civil Service and Spye Park respectively.
