ROYAL Wootton Bassett clocked up their seventh victory in eight Division One matches as their bowlers destroyed Bradford on Avon.

After being put into bat, Bradford were soon up against it as Neilon Joseph claimed 3-45 for the home side.

Ian Pinchin scored 29 for the visitors, but Asanka Vithanage (4-12) helped skittle them for just 87.

Bassett’s run chase was largely untroubled, with Jack Twine’s unbeaten 35 and 33 from skipper Darren Beasant seeing them home.

Beckington were all out for 222, with Joe Perkins taking 4-58 in 12 overs.

Batting first in overcast conditions, Churches collapsed to 30-4 but recovered to post 208 all out in 44.3 overs.

Opening batsman Jimmy Mann was the star of the show yet again as he carried his bat for a magnificent unbeaten 124.

Contributions from Mann’s teammates were few and far between but a gutsy 25 from number 11 Dean Tomlin enabled Churches to post a last-wicket partnership of 68.

Jack Harris claimed figures of 4-51 for the hosts and he received good support from the slow bowling of Randy Roze (2-14).

Richard Martin (0-27) and Danny Hunt (2-36) bowled well for Churches in reply as wicketkeeper Martin Garstang snaffled two chances behind the stumps to remove both Swindon openers.

Leg-spinner Ravi Dhayalan claimed a single wicket and a run-out off his own bowling to keep Churches in the game, but aggressive batting from Lee Baden (85*) and Harris (33) secured the victory for the home side in just 35.3 overs.
