HIGHWORTH Town Ladies maintained their unbeaten run with a 3-1 win over Frome in the Wiltshire County Womens & Girls League.
Highworth started strongly with Hannah Dalgleish brushing the bar after three minutes. Fromt he resulting corner Dalgleish nicked the bar with a storming header.
After 16 minutes Highworth's Pamella Harris raced down the line, to deliver a cross in for Dalgleish to slot under the keepers reach.
Heading towards half time a frustrated Highworth fell out of position leaving Frome space to break, a strong challenge brought Frome a free-kick which was converted, ending the first half 1-1.
After five minutes of the second half a smashing long ball from Libby Hale after found Mariana Claus, she played a through ball to Kerry Walklett to wrestle off the defender to slot home Highworth's second of the game.
Highworth didn't stop there, straight from the Frome kick-off Claus ran the length off the pitch forcing the Frome keeper to spill the ball into her own net ending the game 3-1 to the Worthys.
Highworth's U12s entertained third placed Warminster Highbury but unfortuntaelt lost out 0-5 in poor conditions Highworth U16s lost 5-1 top-of-the-league Kidlington, the game was 0-3 at half time but Highworth’s Charlotte Weisinger’s continued pressure on Kidlington’s defence paid off when she scored in the second half. Hannah Case, Highworth’s keeper, made a number of good saves throughout the game.
