SHRIVENHAM are desperate for a win according to manager Sam Collier, who was forced to play in goal during last night’s defeat to Milton United in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy.

With none of the four keepers that Shrivvy have on the books available, Collier was forced to put on the gloves for only the second time in his career but he couldn’t stop his side falling to a 4-2 defeat.

The side got a good luck message from Sky Sports reporter Alex Hammond prior to the game via Twitter, but even that couldn't turn around the teams fortunes.

Two goals in the first half from the visitors, followed by one after the break, put them in a strong position, and despite two goals from Matt Bown and substitute Steve Robertson Shrivenham could not find the equaliser.

“It was in the cup, it wasn’t really a priority for us," said Collier.

“We have four goalies signed on, two of them recently, the reserve is injured and Stuart Thompson, our regular goalie was unavailable due to work.

“They have to sign on seven days prior to the game, so we rang the league and asked if we don’t have a recognised goalie can we play one but they didn’t help us out.

“We controlled the game in the first half but again we don’t look like scoring or taking our chances.

"They've had two shots first half and I think one of them a goalie might have saved and the other was a good strike, two shots and two goals.

"The second half we have come out and a similar thing has happened really, we haven't defended well and gone three goals down.

"We got back in the game, 3-2, but then they scored late on.

"We've got 20 games to keep the club in the Hellenic Premier League and that is our main priority at the moment.

"Although it would have been nice to win a game, we haven't done and now Saturday is the big one for us."
