END of season fixture congestion is no bother for HIghworth Town manager John Fisher – for the Elms chief, it is reward for a successful season.

After their historic run to the FA Vase semi-finals, the Worthians are set to tussle with five Hellenic League Premier Division matches in ten days, kicking off with trips to Bracknell Town and Cheltenham Saracens on Saturday and Monday respectively.

Fisher admits that he’ll have to shuffle his pack to cope with the demands of the end-of-season run-in but is still targeting an unbeaten run to tee Highworth up for the Wiltshire Senior Cup final against Bradford Town on April 29.

“We’ve got all these games because we had the Vase run and we’d rather have that, wouldn’t we?” said Fisher.

“I’d rather have that then – and not to be rude to them – be like Shrivenham and have just a couple games left and nothing to play for.

“The lads all know that we’re going to have to rest people for games because they’ll just come back in for the next one. A few of them have also got a Sunday cup final to play inbetween Saturday and Monday.

“We want to try and finish fourth and go unbeaten for the rest of the season and set ourselves up for the Wiltshire Senior Cup final – you’re judged on what you win and we want to win that.

“Our pitch is no better but with the weather the way it is, it will be rock-hard on Saturday, and that’s another thing to think about.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, 10th-placed Wootton Bassett Town host Holyport, who are 15th, on Saturday.
