U9s Purple Cup - Pewsey v Wroughton Youth White

The first game on cup final day showed some real quality football from both teams. It was very close game, with Wroughton looking the stronger initially, but as the game went on, Pewsey grew in confidence.

In the 35th minute, Wroughton failed to convert after Pewsey conceded a penalty, so after extra-time, a shootout was required to decide matters. Pewsey converted all three of their penalties and lifted the cup.

North U9s Blue Cup - Lydiard Hammers v Forest Green

This match between two of the best U9s teams was a tantalising prospect on paper and Forest Green took a grip of proceedings early on, scoring the opening goal in the second minute.

Good work from Lydiard keeper Aston Garland prevented the lead being extended until the 24th minute and Forest Green also converted a penalty in the 35th minute, with Cameron Tyler named man of the match.

U9s Red Cup - Lambourn Sports Red v Hungerford

Both teams started very brightly in this derby clash, creating a number of chances and Lambourn opened the scoring in the seventh minute.

They then went 2-0 ahead with 35 minutes on the clock through Joseph Blount, who then scored again and a contender for goal of the day a minute later with a great strike from the halfway line.

U10s Red Cup - Purton v Ferndale

The first game on Sunday was a mouth-watering tie, with Purton grabbing a quick goal in the eighth minute. Ferndale equalised to draw level and the match looked all set for extra-time until, three minutes from time, Purton’s Kyle Lawson popped up with the match-winning goal.

U10s Blue Cup - Swindon Supermarine v Robins Red

This was always going to be a tight affair between two of the best teams in this age group. Both teams equalled each other for the first 30 minutes until a wonderstrike from Kian Shanley broke the deadlock.

Robins then levelled through Sam Wiles and a in the dying seconds, a well-struck Supermarine corner looped its way into the goal to settle matters.

U10’s Red Cup - Lydiard Millicent v Stratton Junior Orange

Both teams had early chances but after the 13th minute, Lydiard had managed to score two goals and give themselves a cushion and one hand on the silverware.

Stratton created a few chances but it was Lydiard that grabbed a third goal.
