SWINDON Supermarine boss Dave Webb has his sights on the top after his team's perfect start to the season.

The new campaign may only be two games and less than a week old, but the Webb’s Wood Stadium boss would like to see his side reach the summit early after being impressed by their early form.

Supermarine play host to Bishops Cleeve this Saturday as one of only six teams with a 100 per cent record and Webb is keen for that to continue.

“We’re really pleased and I can’t have asked any more of the players so far,” he said.

“That is two games, two clean sheets and five goals scored, creating lots of chances.

“The players have been fantastic. They are working hard and look like they are enjoying their football and playing some really good stuff at times.

“It is a very important game on Saturday and if we can win that game, we might go top of the league, which is where you want to be.

“You have to get there first and stay there, but I would rather be up there than at the other end of the league.”

Webb, who will be missing Bradley Gray this weekend due to an ankle injury, is not underestimating the task in hand though, with Supermarine having failed to secure a point against the Gloucestershire outfit last season.

“We will be very focused on Bishops Cleeve on Saturday and the players have to realise how important the game is and we have to play as well as we did in the first two,” added Webb.

“We should get another win if we do things properly on Saturday, although it won’t be easy.

“They beat us at our place last season and they are a threat, with some lively players in their team.”

Meanwhile, Chippenham Town play host to Bedworth United this weekend as they also look to extend their 100 per cent record.

Former Newport County skipper Andy Sandell will be aiming to continue his fine start to life at the Bluebirds after netting three goals in the opening two matches while boss Mark Collier has no fresh injury concerns.
