SWINDON Town Ladies have been drawn away to face Long Lane FC in the third qualifying round of the SSE Women's FA Cup.

Town must travel to the South East Counties League and in the previous round beat Eastbourne Town 4-0, with the tie being played on Sunday, October 11.

Swindon Spitfires are also away in the third round, travelling to Bath to face Larkhall Athletic.

Town and the Spitfires meet in the FA Women’s Premier League Division One South West tomorrow night at Barrington park, Shrivenham (7.45pm).

The two sides met three weeks ago at Highworth Town FC, with Town coming out on top

Manager Steve Robertson said: "Local derbies are always interesting games and often throw up strange results.

"We had a good win at their place and I am sure that they will want to put the record straight. We had to work really hard for our win at Exeter on Sunday and I hope that we can show the same commitment on Wednesday night.

Sam Quinn and Michelle Rich are available again but Laura Morgan is still out injured.

Town squad: Robyn Levett, Alice Smith, Alex Hurst, Natasha Perry, Sam Quinn, Serena Smith, Ellie Maynard, Sarah Uzzell, Michelle Rich, Chyna Collings, Beth Westlake, Abby Picton, Chenise Austin, Meg Vella, Sally Butterfield and Meg Attenborough.

  • Swindon Town Ladies Development side went top of the Wiltshire County Women’s Open Age league after beating previous leaders Warminster Town 10-0.

Highworth Under 13 girls continued their fine start to the season with a routine win against Westbury Belles at Highworth Rec on Saturday.

Despite a shaky first five minutes which saw Westbury take a shock lead, Highworth recovered well to go in 3-1 up at half time, thanks to fine breakaway goals from Millie Ersser and Emily Bristow and a cool Georgia Fraone finish.

Highworth added to their lead in the second half thanks to a long-range effort from Lucy West.

Lauren Bulley slotted home from a tight angle to complete the scoring late on.
