SWINDON Supermarine boss Dave Webb is looking forward to this weekend’s FA Cup fixture against Odd Down but admits the pressure is on his side.

Webb’s team go into the game on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw to Slimbridge but Marine will take some positives from that.

Striker Connor Waldon has made a flying start to the season, scoring six goals in four games including a hat-trick on the opening day.

“I’m delighted for Connor he’s scored six in four now which is great, we spoke last year about us lacking a cutting edge and he’s providing that for us, long may it continue,” said Webb.

“He’s been working hard in training and now he’s doing well, which is great to see. The others need to chip in too, which to be fair, they have been doing.”

Despite this, Webb stresses the importance of squad rotation ahead of the game.

“We are lucky to have so many good players here, we had nine leave and everyone who is here will have a chance to prove what they can or can’t do.

“You don’t win a game with 11 men, the players will enjoy a few days rest now but will need to focus ahead of the weekend.

“We’ve had a look at them (Odd Down), I’ve had a good report and they’re a team who are used to winning, but we are the stronger side so the players will have to deal with the pressure.”

Marine will be boosted by the return of Brad Gray who has recovered from an ankle injury, but will be without Ryan Morgan and Josh Parsons for the weekend’s fixture.

Meanwhile, Highworth Town will hope the FA Cup can provide them with a first win of the season when they travel to Hellenic League Premier Division rivals Ardley United.
