SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb is hoping to put his Bank Holiday blues behind him as his team travel to Portishead Town in the FA Cup.

Last weekend wasn’t the best for Supermarine who their first game of the season 2-1 to North Leigh and had another postponed due to bad weather.

“Last weekend was disappointing on a number of fronts, to have the game called off in bizarre circumstances and to lose on Monday,” said Webb.

“That put us behind the pack, during the game at North Leigh we didn’t reach the levels we were used to, we were well below par.

Despite their opponent playing in Toolstation League First Division, the Marine manager wants his side to execute a professional win.

“The game against Portishead Town is one of those where everyone will be looking at us, they have won two games to reach this stage,” said Webb.

“They’re eight games unbeaten this season.

“But we, as the side from two divisions above, have to go there, be professional and win the game.

“It’s very much one of those games where everyone expects you to win and Portishead will be looking for an upset, it’s a classic FA Cup tie."

Marine will have to do it without Josh Parsons (suspended), Dan Martin (hamstring) and Bradley Gray (concussion).

After Saturday’s postponement against Shortwood United the rearranged date has been fixed for Tuesday, September 13.

Highworth Town are also in FA Cup action this weekend as they visit in-form Eastbourne United.

Jeff Roberts’ team go into the game on the back of a 3-3 draw against Royal Wootton Bassett on Monday.

“It is going to be a tough one for us, they (Eastbourne) have played four and won four so it is definitely going to be a tough task for us with the journey as well,’’ said Roberts.

“We just have to go down and be professional, take our chances and go from there really, we don’t know much about them to be honest, whoever turns up will get the result.”
