MALMESBURY Victoria were able to claim a point after overcoming a two goal deficit to draw 2-2 against Chard Town.

After two successive defeats, Kevin Bridgeman’s team were looking for a reaction against 16th placed Chard Town.

After a flat first half from the Vics it was the visitors who had the first chance when they were awarded a penalty in the 39th minute.

Patrick Golden was guilty of missing the spot kick, but the rebound was bundled in by Stephen Friend five minutes before the break.

The second half was a similar story, Malmesbury would dominate the ball, but it was the visitors who struck when Taoufik Bensalam’s header found the back of the net ten minutes after the restart.

However, they were handed a lifeline when Sam Parker cut Chard’s lead to a single goal, and it only took a further 90 seconds until it was all square.

Ed Wilkins was the goal hero when he headed ball towards the goal, with the opposition goalkeeper only able to palm it onto the post and in.
