HIGHWORTH Town Sunday manager Mitchell Brown has praised his side after their 6-0 win over Swindon Rovers at the weekend.
Goals from Jake Saunders, Sean McSharry, Jack Pedder, Liam Haines and a double from Josh Coombe were enough to seal the Division Five win.
“We were playing second-bottom in the league so I did expect us to win, but we went out and put in a good performance,” said Brown.
“We went 5-0 up in the first half but were a bit slow in the second because we were trying some new things and we really went to sleep but I’m pleased we’ve got the points.”
Elsewhere in the division, Swindon Athletic and Coleshill Youth enjoyed their weekend as the former were 3-0 winners over PSV Swindon and the latter were 2-0 victors at Nationwide.
Paxton House United thumped Northern Lights 11-2 at home while, Save On Tyres Athletic were beaten by Purton Redhouse 2-1.
In Division One, leaders AFC Gas earned a point with a 1-1 draw away at FC Walcot, as Jovial Monk remain winless after a 4-1 defeat to Penhill United.
Meanwhile, Your Sport Swindon were 7-1 winners as they saw off Chilli Shak in Division Two, Rodbourne Real kept their unbeaten start intact as they picked up a 4-1 win at Woodlands Edge.
AFC Haydon are top of Division Three after a 4-2 win over Purton Freshbrook, Stratton Saints and Crown had to settle for a point after a 2-2 draw as Willowgreen Hotspur climbed to fifth place with a 2-1 win over Eldene.
Rudis were Division Four’s big winners as they claimed a comprehensive 7-2 away win at Gorsehill Borough, Chiseldon Sunday put five past their hosts Smart Movers in a 5-0 win.
