LOCAL karter Joshua Davis has made an excellent start to the season.
The 10-year-old, who secured his first karting triumph two years ago and has collected 10 trophies in 17 races, pilots a cadet kart for ages eight to 13.
He competes at Rissington in Gloucestershire and Llandow in south Wales, which are associated with the Motorsport Association under the FIA umbrella.
Davis has impressed at both clubs, winning three times and also notching up a second and a third in his five races. That means he is leading both club championships.
Cadet karting is the grass roots for future British motor racing stars and was where Jenson Button, Paul di Resta and Lewis Hamilton started out.
Davis’ kart reaches 60mph and requires immense skill to control, while drivers must also be determined to win.
Davis, who aims to become a professional racing driver, would like to thank his sponsor Walker Logistics for their continued support.
Anyone who would like to sponsor the youngster should email vanessa.davis55@hotmail.co.uk.
