SWINDON School of Gymnastics Club sent two teams to compete in the Forest of Dean for round one of the West Country League.

The seniors were up first and came home with a bronze medal after impressing with their routines on the beam and floor.

The juniors finished a creditable fourth place following some fine work on the four-inch balance beam.

The club also sent 27 gymnasts to the annual grading at Melksham.

Shayla Salter gained a distinction as seven youngsters attained their Grade Four.

Of the 11 girls who took the Grade Three, Shannon Reynolds was accredited with a distinction as well as being crowned county champion.

Two members passed their Grade Two, while seven were awarded the tough Grade One mark, which saw Daniella Reynolds finish third.

Five senior members headed to Basingstoke to compete in the Veterans’ Championships.

Laurissa Hyner-Anderson won gold in the Ladies' Advance Trampolining.

Lauren Cordingley took the silver in the Ladies' Advance Tumbling section While, along with Jodi Waldon, they took the gold in the Ladies' Acro Trio.

John Hall won gold in the Men’s Recreational competition, while Tomas Bredi was fourth following an impressive score on the rings.
