The 2015 Aprilia Superteen champion, 13, arrived off the back of a solid 10th place finish at Oulton Park a week earlier and cracked the top 10 early in the weekend with a ninth place qualifying position, However, he failed to finish for the first time this season in the first race as he and two other riders took a tumble after a post-accident restart.

His team worked hard on his bike overnight and he set matters straight in race two, notching up an impressive fifth place, keeping him 10th in the series standings on 113 points with two rounds to go.

“I made a couple of mistakes early in the race, pushing hard. I went back to 11th and fought hard to close the gap. It equals my best ever result too,’’ said Cook, who next takes to the track at the Assen TT Circuit in the Netherlands from September 30-October 2.
