DAVID Colclough’s Swindon Shock are out for revenge this week as they welcome Plymouth Rebels to New College.

Shock are currently third in National League Division Four behind RCT Gladiators and Cardiff City, however.

All three side are locked on 16 points apiece but the two Welsh outfits have a superior points difference.

Colclough’s troops are full of confidence as they head into their last home game, after claiming a narrow win over the table-topping Gladiators last weekend.

Following their surprise defeat to Woking Blackhawks, Colclough admits last weekend’s win was a much-needed boost as they hone in on promotion.

“It’s knowing you can take out the top team on their own floor. They were fully loaded and weren’t missing anybody,” said Colclough.

“It gives you all the confidence in the world. The guys were buzzing and it’s why we do this, because it is worth it.

“Every year, we seem to be at the critical game where we make or break it to get to the play-offs or to whether you get promoted.”

The last time Shock encountered Plymouth, in mid-November, the Devon outfit picked up the points in a surprise 91-67 victory.

Following that disappointing result, Colclough wants his side to put it right this weekend in front of a home crowd.

“I’m not sure if the guys went down and thought they knew what to do, or what the case might have been – I still don’t know to this day,” added the Shock coach, who missed that game due to a prearranged holiday.

“It’s one of those things. We have addressed it but I think it is at the back of everyone’s mind. We have five more games to get to where we need to get to.

“The players know what they have to do and I think it starts defensively because we gave up a lot of points against Plymouth.

“They’re disappointed we lost to them and that it’s left us in the position where we have to win all of our games.

“We are ready to keep the momentum going and turn it up a notch, and we want to finish on a good note at home but it will be tough. They’re all tough games to me.”
