Swindon Sonics' disappointing run of defeats continued when they lost 83-63 at third-placed Reading Rockets in the English Basketball League's Division Four (South West) on Saturday.
After Matt North had opened the scoring, Reading took control with a 15-0 run and the Sonics were down 23-9 at the first break.
The lead stretched to 16 points before the Sonics finally got into gear and Dan Bissex, Spencer Wells and North led them on a 20-10 run that saw them cut the deficit to 35-51 at the half.
The Rockets had the better of the early stages of the second half, stretching their advantage to seven before Chris Jones and Oliver Sauer scored six in a row to see the Sonics just a point down at 42-41 midway through the quarter.
But Reading took control again to lead 57-47 at the end of the third and a 13-2 start to the final quarter finished the match.
Sonics entertain second-placed Bognor Pirates at the Link Centre on Sunday (jump ball 4pm).
