SWINDON golfer Martin Sell has made a good start at Mentmore as he finished the day in tied fourth after carding a five-under-par first round.
The Wrag Barn Pro won at the same course, in Leighton Buzzard, earlier this year in the Challenge Tour and is in a good position to challenge for the title on the final day tomorrow.
The Wiltshireman made a perfect start to his round as he birdied the par-four first.
Sell, taking part in the two-day Jamega Tour pro-am tournament, went on to birdie holes five and nine to go out with a three-under-par score of 33.
On the back nine Sell managed seven consecutive pars before getting birdies on the last two holes to finish on a high note going into the second day.
Welshmen Mark Laskey is the overnight leader after scoring an eight-under-par 64.
