TWO bogies in his final three holes cost David Howell a place near the top of the leaderboard at the Turkish Airlines Open this morning.
The Swindon star carded a one-under-par round of 71 to lie well adrift of the early pacesetters who included European Ryder Cup stars Miguel Angel Jimenez and Ian Poulter at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Antalya.
Howell was in good shape at three under par heading down the seventh - his 16th - before back-to-back dropped shots nudged him back towards par.
The two-time Ryder Cup ace had previously birdied the tenth, 17th, first and fourth holes.
