SWINDON’S David Howell is looking forward to the prospect of playing alongside model Jodie Kidd as they tee off in the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-am this morning.
The pair will be hoping to stay on pitch at Wentworth as they are joined by Keane lead singer Tom Chaplin and Foreigner’s Rick Wills in their fourball.
The foursome, who will be starting from the fourth tee, will be joined by a star-studded field which will include former Swindon Town manager Glenn Hoddle, while reigning BMW PGA champion and world number one Rory McIlroy will be playing with One Direction’s Niall Horan as well as former Manchester United players Phil Neville and Paul Scholes.
The teams aren’t just playing for pride - one of several fundraising initiatives on the day includes a ‘hit the green’ competition, helping to raise funds for the tournament’s Official Charity, Teenage Cancer Trust.
“I am playing with the model Jodie Kidd so that should be good fun,” Howell told the Adver. “I think she is quite a good player.
“I enjoy the pro-am and this is always a great one and you can have a bit of fun out there.”
