DAVID Howell tees off his bid to win the Scottish Open at Gullane Colf Club today.

The Broome Manor pro will be using the tournament to find his form on the links ahead of the Open championship next week.

Howell produced one of his best performances of the season in the Open at the Royal Liverpool last year and will be hoping a strong show at Gullane will put him in a position to do the same at St Andrews next week.

The 40-year-old goes off at 3.20pm alongside Romain Wattel and Emiliano Grillo.

Elsewhere 26 of Wiltshire’s top professional golfers will compete to win a portion of the £3,625 prize fund at the 35th Hills Wiltshire Professionals Golf Championship to be held at Marlborough Golf Club on Thursday, July 9.

The Championship will be decided on a 36 hole stroke play basis with the top 18 and ties playing the second 18 holes with the leaders out last.
