WRAG Barn Captains Drive in raises £2,500 for charity

After some horrendous rain on Saturday, Easter Sunday was a bright sunny morning and the Wrag Barn course was in great condition for the annual Captains Drive in.

124 golfers met at sunrise to take part in the 2018 Captain's Drive in with a chance to win a round of golf at Sunningdale.

Shaun Carney, the 2018 Captain, his wife, Debbie, and the 2018 Committee organised a great event in aid of Clic Sargent.

All 4 captains, Shaun Carney (Men's and Club), Molly Barby (Ladies), David Rees (Seniors) and Guy Drayton (Junior) all smashed their drives down the middle of the 1st fairway in front of a 100+ crowd.

Tony Gallagher and Barry Dennington were the winners of the traditional pairs competition that preceded the drive in and are now on their way to Sunningdale.

More importantly, £2,500 was raised for Clic Sargent. Special thanks goes to Swindon Town Football Club for sponsoring the prizes on the day.

CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. Its care teams provide specialist support across the UK (with a specialist home form home at Oxford hospital). The charity also undertakes research into the impact of cancer on children and young people.
