MARTIN Sell showed his liking for Studley Wood by taking his second win of the year at the Oxfordshire course, despite windy and rainy conditions.

The Wrag Barn golfer notched up the 2012 Jamega Tour title after finishing eight-under-par following his two rounds, lifting him to fourth in the order of merit.

He had previously won the Jamega Pro Golf Tour Winter Series at the same course in March.

Sell was one of three men a shot behind three-under-par leader Nick Lawrence after day one.

Despite bogeying the first hole on day two, Sell quickly put that behind him as he posted seven birdies for an outstanding round of golf.

“I set myself a target, tried to stay patient as it was a bit blustery and tried to hit as many greens as I could,” said Sell.

“It was a good round, I played solid and kept it under control.”

He also featured prominently in the preceding pro-am as another round of 71 earned him a share of third.

Brennan brought home the Bowood team that finished runners-up on 84 points, matched by the team of former Bowood assistant Simon Swales, now club professional at Radyr Golf Club in Cardiff.

Ogbourne Downs assistant Ben Newman recovered from a shocking start to his round in the pro-am.

After carding a nine at the first and six at the second to stand at six over par, he made six birdies in the next eight holes, finishing on a creditable 74.
