Meanwhile, Swindon ladies cruised to a 4-0 success over Cheltenham seconds in Premier 2A.

The hosts made a bright attacking start and scored their first goal when Gemma Scrase finished a strong run with a sharp turn and shot.

Scrase was instrumental in the second goal when her shot was saved only for the rebound to be pounced on by Chloe Lewis.

With great skill, Lewis calmly flicked the ball, using her reverse stick, over the prone goalkeeper.

Swindon continued to dominate and were rewarded with a third goal when Vicky Stokes ended a move by deflecting the ball in at the far post.

The second half started evenly with Cheltenham finding their form and building a solid midfield structure.

Swindon responded by upping their work rate, with teenagers Charlie George and Chloe Lewis showing real determination and endurance in breaking down the opposition play.

With Cheltenham stalling, Swindon took control of the game and held possession for long periods. They were rewarded with a fourth goal when joint player of the match Chloe Lewis grabbed her second.

Lewis used her reverse stick for the second time to score after a strong run from Vicky Stokes.

After the game, joint player of the match Charlie George was tired but appreciative of a solid team effort.
