Swindon Ladies head into the festive break second in the Premier Division 2A table after completing the first half of their season with a comfortable 4-0 win over City of Bath at home.
Rachel Wells opened the scoring after 15 minutes when she smashed home a close-range shot following some careful build-up.
The second goal came from hard-working forward Vicky Stokes immediately after her arrival as a substitute, powering the ball into the corner of the net.
Swindon scored a third goal before half-time as teenage midfielder Wells grabbed her second. After some creative work down the right, Wells latched onto a cross from Gemma Scrase and her shot gave the keeper no chance.
With Swindon controlling the second half and Bath forced to defend, the result never looked in doubt. The hosts created numerous chances, with debutant Emma Brown narrowly missing the target.
Linda Wall eventually did score Swindon’s fourth, sweeping a cross from Gael Little into the net.
Swindon remain five points behind table-topping Newent in the race for promotion.
