SWINDON slipped to a 5-3 defeat at Bristol Uni A in Conference North after the hosts bagged two late goals.
With three minutes remaining on the clock, Swindon looked to be heading home with a share of the spoils, however, on a rainswept pitch, Bristol struck twice to send Tom Goldsmith’s side home empty handed.
Swindon opened up a two-goal lead midway through the first half thanks to a short corner strike by Chris Parsons and a great individual goal from Thomas Lentschner.
However, the hosts reduced the arrears on the stroke of half-time.
After the break, Bristol stormed into a 3-2 lead with two goals in the opening five minutes of the second half.
Swindon restored parity as Parsons bagged his second of the match and with time running out, Jim Towers went close to grabbing a fourth.
However, Swindon then conceded a penalty stroke and a goal in open play as Bristol snatched the win.
Captain Goldsmith said: “We rode our luck slightly. They missed four or five open goals and were a good side. We're still in a good place to continue our promotion push in 2017.”
Swindon A and Royal Wootton Bassett A drew 3-3.
