SWINDON men’s first team maintained the pressure on Conference North leaders West Wilts at the weekend with a 4-2 win at Bristol UWE.

The visitors took a 2-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from Tom Wickens and skipper Tom Goldsmith.

After the interval, Bristol pulled a goal back before Luke Cejer and Thomas Lentschner fired Swindon 4-1 ahead and then the hosts grabbed a late consolation goal.

The ladies’ firsts came from 3-0 down in their home clash with Redlands to take a share of the spoils in Premier 2A.

The visitors opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes and were 3-0 up at half-time.

However, after the break, Lynsey Wall grabbed the hosts’ first goal following some good work from Chloe Lewis and Gemma Scrase.

The deficit was then reduced to one when Victoria Stokes finished off a short-corner routine.

With only eight minutes left on the clock, Angela Cooke grabbed a point for Swindon after being played in by Linda Brouwers.
