I love playing hockey so if they tell me I have to play a bit more it is all good with me.

So even though having the three lads Ollie Betteridge, Callum Buglass and Floyd Taylor away, plus the handful of Okanagan Academy players, is taking its toll I think the players are enjoying the challenge.

With a depleted squad on Sunday against Peterborough we played with four defenders and we played with two centre men, when normally we would want to play with three.

Aaron Nell and Lee Richardson played centre and they were just switching with each other for the whole game.

We also played three pairs of wings, so for those guys it is like a regular game, but the main change is that you are playing with different people.

For the forwards that is quite a big difference because you build up a partnership or a trio up, so you are playing with different people all night.

In defence we are only playing four lines which is something we do often.

Often having the reduced lines helps you get the quicker start because you are on the ice more and you’re quicker to get going which is good.

Obviously, it is nicer to get that early lead because chasing a game with fewer players is very difficult.

We have the luxury of five imports so we can make the changes over the weekend to get fresh legs out there.

I tend to get caught up in the game so I am not really thinking about trying to take rests on the ice when I can to save myself.

I am sure some of the skill players might be a bit more selective with their effort. You are not going to chase as many lost causes.

With the break coming up there is the opportunity to really deplete yourself and then you’ve got that week for Christmas to rejuvenate and come back and that is good for us.

I think the feeling in the changing room at the moment is that we come together, we enjoy it and I think that shows in the way we’re playing.

I think if we were in a bit of a bad run it might not be so easy to deal with.
