SWINDON Wildcats will take on the Manchester Phoenix in the semi-finals of the English Premier League Challenge Cup.
Ryan Aldridge’s side finished level on 22 points with Milton Keynes Lightning and Guildford Flames at the top of the South section after beating National League Chelmsford Chieftains 6-2 yesterday but came out top of the pile after head-to-head records between the three table-toppers became the decisive factor.
The Wildcats’ league rivals Manchester finished second in the North group and Swindon are set to lock horns with the Phoenix both home and away.
The Flames take on Telford Tigers in the other semi-final, with the upcoming semis yet to be scheduled into the fixture list.
Aldridge’s men welcome Manchester to the Link for a dress rehearsal in the league next weekend.
