INCOMING Swindon Wildcats head coach Stevie Lyle has been named as the Okanagan Hockey Academy Head Goalie Coach.

The veteran netminder takes over the reins at the Link Centre from Ryan Aldridge, who is joining OHA in the summer.

And now, Lyle, who has been named in former OHA boss Pete Russell’s first GB squad this week, will also be joining the Swindon-based academy organisation.

Lyle said: "I'm delighted to have been offered this position with the OHA UK. I am very keen to be able to help the OHA goalies develop.

“They are already good goalies but there is room for them to improve their game before they can start thinking of a pro career.

“OHA UK gives the players and coach the chance to build and securely embed good habits before moving forward.

“It will also allow me to put into practice different coaching methods I have been exposed to during my career and fit these around the needs of the netminders at the Academy."
