Swindon Wildcats have announced that they will be expanding their seating space at the Link Centre for the 2016-17 campaign.

After a hugely successful off-season, which saw a 10 per cent increase in season ticket sales compared to last year, the English Premier League side have decided to use that increased revenue to fund the extra seating for their supporters.

There will now be extra seats underneath the bar at the far end of the Link Centre rink, giving more people the option to cheer on the Wildcats in comfort.

This additional seating proides a huge boost for the Cats and is another step in the right direction for the club, who are aiming to make strides both on and off the ice.

Wildcats general manager Steve Nell said: “We decided to invest in more seating as we were consistently turning people away.

“When new families come for the first time, they generally want to sit rather than stand. The seats will be in on August 31 and will remain in place until the end of the season.

“If they prove to be successful, we will make them a permanent fixture.”
