SWINDON Wildcats claimed an emphatic 7-0 win over the Bracknell Bees at the Link Centre.

Jonas Hoog, Robin Kovar, Thomasz Malasinski, Max Birbraer,  Floyd Taylor, Toms Rutkis and Ben Nethersell were all on target for the win.

During the first period Swindon had a pragmatic approach to the game until  Hoog breached the Bees’ defence halfway through the opening session when he applied the finishing touch to a spell of pressure.

The visitors crept back into contention to a degree but failed to make the most of the momentum as Swindon doubled their lead through Kovar in the 17th minute to settle the home side down.

The Wildcats put in a polished performance throughout the second period as they nullified the threat from the opposition.

Hoog, Malasinski and Kovar were all linking up well as they looked to add a third to assert their dominance on proceedings.

That all important third goal eventually came in the 31st minute when a sweeping move which started with Ollie Stone saw the puck move to Hoog, before landing at the feet of Malasinski.

He made no mistake as he lashed his shot home to further extend their advantage.

Despite their comfortable lead, Swindon came out in the final period looking to add to the score line and they nearly got their wish when Lee Richardson looked as if he was going to extend his own scoring run as he clipped the bar.

Birbraer was on hand to provid the fourth when he found himself with plenty of space on the right, before slotting the puck into the bottom corner with just under 15 minutes left.

Four then became five as Taylor added his name to the list of scorers, Stevie Whitfield had the original effort which was save, allowing Taylor to poke home the fifth.

Aaron Nell will be delighted with the ruthless performance from his players as Rutkis added a sixth in the 51st minute.

The Wildcats player-coach opted to introduce Michael Crisp for Stevie Lyle before Nethersell snatched a seventh in the 57th minute to seal the shut out win.
