DELTA Reds B stayed calm to record a 45-27 win over Abbey Meads in Division Three.

Shannon Hewes made her B team debut in the win, with Krista North awarded player of the match for some amazing shooting, including one shot from the top of the ‘D’.

Delta Reds D weren’t so successful. With five players having played the previous game, Delta were expecting a tough match against Croft E in Division Four of the SDNA league. Despite this, Delta kept going, winning the third quarter, with some fine moves up the court. Croft held on and in the last quarter edged ahead to win by a clear margin, finishing the game 39-24.

Fairford C had a close match against Croft F in Division Five, beating them 21-18. While in a closely fought match Fairford A against Burmah B, where defence proved to be key, Fairford lost 32-29.

Lawn Netball Club managed to secure two wins out of five matches on Saturday.

Lawn A staged a remarkable comeback in the last quarter of the match against a strong Burmah A team. Lawn trailed by three goals at the beginning of the fourth quarter but dug deep and pulled back with strong defence to take the lead by eight goals and win the match 29-21.

Lawn B also achieved a resounding win over Abbey Meads B, winning by 45 goals. Lawn led the whole way throughout the match, with good defence earning goal keeper Kate Dawson player of the match.

Meanwhile, Lawn C lost to Burmah C 22-19. This was Lawn C’s first defeat of the season. Lawn E also lost their match against Raychem F, 45-23.

Wootton Bassett B took on Lawn D in what proved to be an extremely close match, with many turnovers from both sides. Bassett’s Julie Daniell had a consistent game shooting throughout the match and the defence worked well together, Katherine Young caused a lot of errors on the Lawn shooting circle. By the final whistle, Wootton Bassett B took the win – 43-38.

Lawn’s under 16’s squad continued their nationals campaign with a convincing 28-goal win over Bournemouth.
