CROFT A beat Delta A in dramatic fashion in Division One of the Swindon & District League.

A strong start by Delta gave them an early 10-goal lead, but Croft came back strongly, with pressure in defence by Jo Green and Cheryl Baker, creating vital turnovers.

Creative play by the mid-court allowed wing attack Tarlia Clements to feed balls into the circle for shooters Becki Martin and Becky Timbrell to score.

With the score tied in the last play of the game, Croft were awarded a penalty shot to win, which captain Timbrell successfully made.

Raychem B got the better of Moredon A 39-36 in their mid-table battle in the top flight, leading 19-17 at half-time.

The defensive work of Nora Fletcher in the later periods restricted Moredon, who still only trailed 29-28 going into the final quarter.

Division Two leaders Abbey Meads A were pushed all the way by Fairford before extending their record to 16 wins from 16.

With goal attack Sasha Gibbs their player of the match, Fairford slipped eight points behind before fighting back well in the middle two quarters.

Raychem C came unstuck against high-flying Lawn B 56-45 In Division Three, Burmah C were 35-40 winners over Raychem D.

Nationwide C were defeated 34-17 against Delta Reds B.

Delta pushed on to gain a four-goal lead by half-time, extending that to 16 by the end of the third quarter.

Nationwide C then had their best quarter, goal defence Marianne Drew their player of the match.

Raychem E got the better of Jets 31-28, with centre Ally Giles playing a key role in their Division Four triumph.

Raychem F lead the way in Division Five after a 62-20 success over Pinehurst E.
