LAWN have been crowned champions of the Swindon and District O35 League after claiming their 13th win in as many matches.

The 53-16 success over Raychem saw Lawn clinch the title with a game to spare, with Lyn Palmer awarded the player of the match prize.

Elsewhere, Delta Reds A produced one of their best performances of the season to claim only their second win in Division One of the Swindon and District Winter League.

Against Pinehurst A, Delta were trailing by a goal at the end of the first quarter before taking the next session 11-7.

After the break, the Reds maintained their momentum and won the third quarter 13-10. In the final stanza, a fine display from player of the match Krista Reade ensured that Delta claimed the win.

In Division Two, Lawn B claimed a 56-29 success over Pinehurst, with Holly Atkinson and Maddie Goode in fine shooting form.

Player of the match Clair Worship and Sandra Wright made life difficult for Pinehurst around the shooting circle, while Jess Hembrough and Ebony McIntyre also impressed for the victors.

Lawn’s C team were also celebrating after they edged out their Raychem counterparts 41-39.

Raychem made the stronger start to the match and led at the half-time break, however, after the interval, Lawn regrouped and claimed the win as goal attack Maya Dennison took the player of the match award.

Royal Wootton Basset B secured a 37-29 victory over Pinehurst D in a rearranged Division Four contest, with Caroline Beard named the player of the match.

Lauren Twine put in a player-of-the-match performance for Lawn D to help her side defeat Raychem F 36-29.

Lawn’s Regional League Two side battled hard against Gloucester-based Hucclecote Comets but were unable to prevent the hosts taking a 67-51 success, with centre Sara Kershaw earning the player of the match award.

Lawn juniors U11s beat Croft 11-4, the U12s defeated Royal Wootton Bassett 24-4 and the U16s claimed a 57-27 win over Clevedon Royals.
