THERE will be no game for Swindon College Old Boys’ first XV this weekend after Aylesbury Prison pulled out of the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier Division with nobody to run the team.

Instead, it will be the second XV in action against Sutton Benger in Dorset & Wilts Two North, but head coach Mark Lea will resist fielding any ringers for the match.

“With the first team not playing it is always a temptation to stick a couple of them in but we are giving a rest to all our first team players this weekend,” said Lea.

“Both of us coaches will be going and, not only that, a number of the first team players will be making the trip.

“It is always good for the first team to see the seconds play so they can see the competition they have for their place.

“I am hoping the second team raise their game and show us what they have got.

“It is the first time we are playing them but we know them to be quite a strong side so we are expecting a tough weekend.”
