Supermarine ladies were unable to build on last week’s success as they lost 43-0 to Wasps seconds.

Despite starting well, Marine were unable to turn their pressure into points and it was their hosts who took the lead from a breakaway try before they bagged a second score after winning turnover ball.

Marine continued to battle hard in the second period but they were caught cold as Wasp grabbed try number three.

The hosts then saw their winger run the length of the pitch to make to open up a 28-0 lead.

However, Supermarine continued with a spirited performance, causing problems at the set-piece, dominating the scrums and making good ground allowing them to play much of the match in Wasps territory.

Supermarine then lost a player to the sin bin for not rolling away and Wasps continued to exploit their pace and scored two more tries around the outside.

Back to full complement, Supermarine again pressured the Wasps 22 resulting in a sin binning for the Wasps flanker.

However, a last minute try for Wasps saw the game end a disappointing and undeserved 43-0 loss for Supermarine.

Back of the match went to inside centre Bel Martin-Mulholland and forward of the match went to the front row consisting of Aileen Douglas, Pixie Bickell and Fran Brewer.
