CHISELDON’S Jonny May has dropped to the bench for England ahead of this weekend’s Six Nations clash with Wales.

The 26-year-old started in England’s 15th successive Test victory last weekend as they kicked off the defence of their crown with a scrappy 19-16 win over France at Twickenham.

However, winger May saw yellow in the first half of the contest for tipping France centre Gael Fickou over the horizontal.

May is one of two changes to the starting XV as he has been replaced by Exeter Chiefs’ Jack Nowell, while Harlequins’ Jack Clifford has been named at flanker to win his ninth cap.

“It’s been a great week of focused preparation and we can’t wait to play Wales,” said England head coach Jones.

“Playing Wales in Cardiff is one of the biggest games in world rugby and we’re excited," he said. "These are the games you want to be part of as a player and a coach.

“We don’t need extra motivation this week; we play Test rugby because we want to be the best for England. Every game for us is important and our supporters, and Wales is our next game so it’s the most important.”
