DANNY James believes his young Supermarine side could be more than a match for any team in Dorset & Wilts One North - providing they believe in themselves.

Marine entertain in-form Bradford on Avon at home tomorrow on the back of a heavy defeat by leaders Minety last weekend.

But although he is happy with their mid-table league position, the player-coach believes greater self-confidence could see his troops flying high in the division.

James said: "Minety were a good side but we gave them two soft tries in the first half.

"In the second half we let them in for four unopposed tries, and that is something that won't happen against Bradford.

"They will have to work for every single point they score on Saturday.

"We've learnt from last week, and that's what this season is all about.

"We have a de-brief after every game and run through what has gone well and not so well.

"It's all about the players learning from their mistakes and going into the next game stronger.

"Our main problem is that, because we've got such a young side, we don't have enough confidence against the better teams.

"If we could believe in ourselves more we would pick up some better results, and we are trying to instill that in the lads."

Supermarine will have to do without four players tomorrow, including captain Tom Green, but James is confident they have the strength in depth to cope.

"We've got a couple of injuries, but given the size of our squad, that's something we've got to deal with.

"Eddie Dawe, Jeff Barrett, Nick Moulden and Tom are all out.

"Losing Tom is a major blow. Not only is he the captain, but he's a fantastic player as well and covers every inch of grass.

"We'll cope though and have got adequate replacements.'' James added: "We have played Bradford a few times and they were in the same league as us when we got promoted.

"Having looked at their reports and website, they seem to be a fairly similar side.

"They'll have a well drilled pack and an open, expansive back line.

"It'll be a tough game, but there's no reason why we shouldn't get something from it."
