CRICKLADE cruised to a league double over basement side Trowbridge 2nd to ease their own relegation worries at the bottom of Dorset & Wilts One North.

The north Wiltshire side underlined last week's stunning 46-0 triumph over Swindon 2nd with a 29-10 success at Green Lane.

The first half went to plan for the visitors as Simon Howse ran in three tries and captain Danny Lloyd kicked a fourth. Lloyd also added nine points with the boot to give Cricklade a 29-point cushion at the break.

The second half was a very different affair however, as Cricklade took their foot of the gas and Trowbridge upped the tempo.

The home side's first reply came when an attempted clearance was charged down and Trowbridge got to the ball first, despite claims it had already bounced out of play.

Cricklade were a shadow of their first half selves, but appeared too good for their opponents and threatened to add more points to the first half tally when the home side's over enthusiastic defending resulted in a penalty.

The kick drifted wide of the right post though, and Trowbridge appeared to take heart from this miss to score a try.

Time was not on Trowbridge's side though and Cricklade's commanding defence sent the hosts back to the halfway line as the clock ticked towards full time.
